Alfred Watson spent the first eight years of his life in Clarksburg, West Virginia, where he spent hours exploring the fields and farms near his rural home. When his father deserted the family in 1924, the young boy moved into his grandparent’s home in Pittsburgh

Years later, when a job transfer took him to Franklin, Pennsylvania, he photographed the nearby barns and farm animals that reminded him of his early childhood in West Viriginia, some of boy moved the happiest years of his life.
