After a move to Chicago, Illinois in 1955, Alfred Watson turned his attention to color photography and received numerous gallery acceptances for his nature images.   A favorite venue was Chicago’s Natural History Museum who exhibited his work from 1968-73.

This compelling still life reveals a collection of the artist’s lab bottles in front of a window with a view of a Buffalo winter beyond. The figure of the artist can be seen on the left.
